"I Also Suffered The Racist Songs" - Diego Maradona Pays Tribute To Kalidou Koulibaly
12/30/2018
Diego Maradona has paid tribute to Kalidou Koulibaly, who was subjected to racist taunts and monkey chants in Napoli's match against Inter Milan on Boxing Day.
The former Argentina superstar also said that he suffered racist abuse when he played for the Serie A side.

Maradona posted a photo on Instagram of him holding Koulibaly's shirt. Maradona said:

I played for seven years in Napoli, and I also suffered the racist songs of some fans.

I still remember the flags that said "Welcome to Italy". I feel Neapolitan and today I want to be with Kalidou Koulibaly.

I hope that all this helps to ends racism in football once and for all. Greetings to all!

Koulibaly hasn't played for Carlo Ancelotti's side since as he was sent off in the match against Inter and therefore suspended for Napoli's 3-2 win over Bologna.
The fans showed their support of Koulibaly in Napoli's 3-2 victory over Bologna on Saturday

His team-mates warmed up in shirts with his name on the back as they join the fans in lending their support in the face of adversity.

Inter have already been punished for the episode and will have to play two home matches behind closed doors.
