12/26/2018
According to rumours flying around town, Africans could be heading to the land of the Pharaohs next year for Africa Cup of Nations.

The last time Egypt hosted the Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles of Nigeria finished third.

After CAF stripped Cameroon of the rights to host the 32nd edition of the continental competition, sources are saying that the African football governing body is ready to give the 2019 AFCON hosting rights to Egypt.

Alongside Egypt, South Africa are also said to be interested in the 2019 AFCON hosting rights, but it looks like Egypt are now favourites to beat them on this.

And according to Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick, who is also AFCON President, CAF would only consider bids from Countries with the ability to host the competition with on the go; plug-and-play format.

CAF will announce the new hosts for the 2019 AFCON on January 9.
