CAF Confirmed Egypt As 2019 AFCON Hosts

CAF Confirmed Egypt As 2019 AFCON Hosts
Last month we reported that Egypt will host this year's African Cup of Nations, and today, the Confederation of African Football have confirmed that report.
Egypt are now the new hosts of the 2019 AFCON, beating South Africa for the honour.

The tournament had previously been with West African nation Cameroon, however, the tournament was taken away from the country due to preparation issues and safety concerns in the country.

The announcement was made after CAF’s executive committee meeting on Tuesday morning.

This year’s tournament has been expanded to 24 nations and has moved from the usual January slot to June.

Egypt last hosted the Afcon in 2006 – they’ve hosted on four occasions in total.
