Learn To Choose The Ideal Wi-Fi Router For Your Home

Few items are as necessary to modern life as a router - that little device used to broadcast your broadband internet to the whole house wirelessly. To choose your ideal Wi-Fi Router model, you can visit here.

There are a few things you need to look out for before you buy a router, though. One of them is this strange numbering, followed by one or more letters, highlighted on the packaging of any model: 802.11. Every router comes with that number, but what matters is the letter that comes after it.

This is the protocol used by the router to spread Wi-Fi around. Early generations used the B pattern (identified by the 802.11b sequence), followed by the G, N, and, more recently, the AC patterns. The more modern the protocol used by the router, the better it is.

An 802.11ac router , for example, is capable of delivering much faster internet access, keeping the connection stable on more devices at the same time (your cell phone, your notebook and your Smart TV, for example) and reaching larger areas as well.

This does not mean that you can simply run up to the store and buy the cheapest router with AC standard you find. It is not enough that the router uses the 802.11ac protocol, so your devices must also support this latest standard. Before buying one of these, so make sure your smartphone, your TV, and your PC are ready for that connection.

Another number that causes a lot of confusion is gigahertz. This is the radio frequency at which your Wi-Fi signal will be distributed. Most devices come with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies. The latter offers higher speeds, but not every device (cell phone, PC, video game) supports it.

Ideally, you should choose a router operating on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies so that you can switch between the two automatically to give you the best connection, just in case. If you know exactly what frequencies your devices are tailored to, then choose the router that offers the frequency compatible.

More modern routers are also more expensive, but not for everyone. There are users who may well benefit from a cheaper, 802.11n standard device , for example, and that works perfectly well. It all depends on your habits, the speed of your internet, the space where you want to take Wi-Fi and how many devices.

So it's no use buying a router that offers up to 750 Mbps of speed if the internet you pay has less than 10 Mbps of speed. There is also no need to purchase a router with three antennas if only two or three smartphones will connect to the network most of the time.

Therefore, give preference to routers that offer a top speed compatible with the internet contracted by you. Only purchase routers with more than one Wifi Antennas for Long Range Coverage or AC standard if you expect more than five or six devices to be connected to Wi-Fi at the same time on a regular basis, and if your home is more than 50 square meters.

Even if you find cheaper B or G routers, it is not recommended that you invest money in them. These models are already mostly outdated and, in addition to not offering the best of connections, they also lack security, leaving your network vulnerable to hacking attacks.

This is not to say that you have to spend a lot of money on a router. A quality model, for most users, can cost between $ 100 and $ 180 . Among the most trusted brands are D-Link, TP-Link, Asus and Intelbras, which have a tradition in this market. Linksys also has great options, even though its products are targeted at the most demanding users with the most money to spend.
It pays to research carefully, pay attention to every detail of the model and not be persuaded by the well made packaging for Long Range Wifi Antenna Review.
