Today, August 2nd, the Tiktoker was arraigned in court and sentenced to two years in prison by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Blessing Nwakego was accused with two counts of cyberstalking in court. It was claimed that she and one Chimabia, who is still at large, “connived to commit felony to wit: cyberstalking and thus committed an offense punishable under section 27 of the cybercrimes (prohibition, prevention, etc) act 2015” in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the honorable court, between December 2022 and July 2023.

Following her court hearing, she was found guilty on all counts and sentenced to one year in prison with a N50,000 fine on count one.

She was sentenced to two years in prison and a N100,000 fine on count two. The consecutive sentences must be consecutive, while the jail sentences must be concurrent.

Ego, not surprisingly, chose the latter, citing online claims that she had agreed to pay the N150k fine in order to be released.
